We’ve got all the zombies…and at least one angel…in stitches. Cross-Stitch Patterns and Kits available in the Unexpected Hobby Etsy store.
(Believe me, this is much better news than “Winter is Coming”.)
My first experience with Craftcation was in Spring of 2015. I went looking for something that might educate, inspire, and propel me into starting my own crafting business. I had the most timid of goals, a very sketchy level of self-confidence, and an absolutely no idea where to start.
By the end of 2015 I had flipped the switch on my Etsy store and put together a nice handful of product to sell. I was taking my wares to comic conventions. I was going to a local comic store once a month to cross-stitch with an amazing group of geeky crafters.
I went back to Craftcation in 2016. Who would expect to get a second dose of inspiration and support equal to the first? But that’s exactly what I got…and then some. This year sees new projects, new ideas, new sales, and new inspiration.
Am I headed back to Craftcation in 2017? There’s no question…
I’m going to have a lot more to say about Craftcation between now and April 2017. All you need to know for now is that your chance to register is fast approaching.
- April 27-30, 2017 at the Ventura Beach Marriott in Ventura, California.
- Registration opens 10.13.16. (The 1st 50 people to register get $50 off.)

This Saturday, August 13, I will be at the LA Derby Dolls‘ Comic Book Brawl with all the Unexpected Hobby cross-stitch kits available for sale. I’m sure I don’t need to talk you into an evening of nail-biting banked-track roller derby league action. Check out the LA Derby Dolls website for full information on ticket sales and directions to The Dolloseum (4900 Alhambra Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90032).
Oh, and I won’t be the only geeky vendor there…we’ve got a mini-comic convention going on! Check out these other awesome exhibitors…
